As we’ve been doing our Marvel Avengers Re-Watch series, I’ve been thinking about ranking the individual movies from the Marvel Avengers Cinematic Universe after each film we watch and review on our podcast.
So, for a current list of the films we’ve already reviewed on our podcast, here you go:
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Captain America: Civil War
- The Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1
- Iron Man
- The Avengers
- The Incredible Hulk
- Iron Man 3
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Thor: The Dark World
- Iron Man 2
Pending Reviews: Dr. Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther
It’s hard to rank the films at the top, as they are all good and depending on my mood at the time, they could switch places with another film. Plus, with some of these films I haven’t seen them in a few months and perhaps years. That’s why I suspect as I watch them and review them, they might start switching places.

A new Middle Earth story, The Fall of Gondolin, will be published in August 2018 as reported by TOR.com and other sites.
“Tolkien has called this story, which he first began writing in 1917, “the first real story of this imaginary world”; i.e., it was one of the first tales to be put to paper. “
It seems like this Middle Earth franchise that I thought was finished after The Hobbit movies were completed, still has a lot of life left. With the release of new material, The Chidren of Hurin, Beren and Luthien, and now The Fall of Gondolin; the literary works of Tolkien are still something to collect and read. Combined with the newly announced Amazon Studios 5 season series, there will be many more tales told about Middle Earth. It’s an exciting time to be a Middle Earth fan!

A First Look
UPDATE: It looks the video was taken down from Vimeo’s site. But I might know where to get a copy if you’re interested.
If you’re like me, while I liked Justice League, I’m still bitter about getting the version that matched better with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – the version that Zack Snyder wrote and filmed. Not the version that WB and Joss Wheddon gave us. While there are rumors that this Zack Snyder cut is being developed, they are just rumors for now.
This fan cut is a close second, in that the scenes from the trailers and some deleted scenes are cut into the existing film and parts are re-scored with Hans Zimmer’s music from the earlier films.
I haven’t seen all of it yet, but I’m liking it already. The first four minutes are scenes from the end of BvS, then it provides context for Darkseid, Steppenwolf, and the motherboxes which goes a long way for those who aren’t familiar with the story.
Check it out and let me know what you think. It’s on Vimeo, a YouTube-like platform and was posted yesterday, Sunday 3-25-18, and it already has over 90k views at the time of this post. I like that so many people are wanting a better version of this film, maybe that will translate into WB re-thinking their strategy.
Disney has released its second wave of animated shorts, Forces of Destiny. We get to see some more adventures of Rey, Jyn, Leia, Rose, Padme, and Luke on Dagobah.
A must read for Marvel Avengers: Infinity War fans! Anthony Breznican, @Breznican, breaks down the newest trailer from the upcoming Infinity War film!
